So many of us already know that our livelihoods are quite literally at stake in this election. Whether you are a single person trying to figure out how to pay for healthcare due to losing your job, or a parent having to decide if you should send your child to school or go to work. Every issue that matters to us as Americans are why we need to make it our goal to vote early or by mail. Most importantly, we need to vote for a president with integrity who respects the position and can address all Americans' concerns.
This election is the most important of our lifetime. Your vote will matter not only for electing the next President of the United States but also in down-ballot races such as the United States Senate, District Attorney, County Sheriff, and City Council seats. These elected officials pass laws or implement policies that directly affect our day-to-day life.
It has become more evident during COVID-19 that we need good leaders at the local, state, and national levels who are willing to address issues that affect almost every aspect of our lives. Such as healthcare, civil rights, pay equality, college affordability, women's rights, and workers' rights, to name a few.
With just a month left in the 2020 campaign season, every one of us needs to use whatever platform we have to voice the importance of getting out the vote and bringing civility to America.
It's also essential to remind your family and friends that October 5th is the last day to respond to the 2020 United States Census. Once-a-decade, every household in the United States, regardless of background, is asked to answer a short series of questions.
The data collected is crucial as it impacts the policies and planning in determining the distribution of billions in federal dollars and how many seats the House of Representatives should get based on what the population is in your community and state. In other words, local and state officials use the Census data results to help redraw congressional seats and electoral college votes, all of which affect the outcome of presidential elections. Visit 2020census.gov to respond today.
As we bring about change in the next few weeks, let's stay prayerful for our country and wear a mask to help save lives.
God Bless,
